1. Prosecutors are dropping charges against John Karr in the 1996 slaying of beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey. DNA evidence failed to connect Karr to the crime scene.
2. Ernesto is now barely a tropical storm, but National Hurricane Center forecasters are warning Floridians that the storm could whip up to hurricane strength again soon. A hurricane watch is posted from north of the Kennedy Space Center on the Atlantic side of Florida to south of Naples on the Gulf.
3. Families of the 49 victims in the Kentucky Comair crash say they are waiting to hear details about the accident. The plane went down after it took off from the wrong runway. An airport executive says runway repaving was completed a week ago.
4. The Austrian teenager held in a basement cell for more than 8 years says she may never share the intimate details of her captivity. In a statement, the teenager demands privacy and says her captor treated her well at times but very badly at others. The kidnapper killed himself within hours of the girl's escape.
