1. "Seinfeld" star Michael Richards says anger, not bigotry, fueled his racist outburst at a Los Angeles comedy club. The comedian appeared on the Reverend Jesse Jackson’s syndicated radio show Sunday morning. Richards says he knows his words were offensive and has apologized.
2. In the Queens Borough of New York, mourners and community leaders have held a rally and prayer vigil for a man who was gunned down by police hours before his wedding early Saturday.
3. Iraq’s government is calling for an end to public bickering between Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish politicians. Iraqi officials say public discord encourages sectarian violence. Such violence continued Sunday with a total of 44 people killed or found dead in the region.
4. All shapes, breed and sizes of dogs converged on Bogota, Colombia Sunday for a special fundraising marathon. The event raised money for a non-profit group that helps the spouses of police officers who were killed on duty.
