1. Republican Newt Gingrich is not running for president. A spokesman for the former House Speaker says Gingrich will continue as head of American Solutions, a tax-exempt committee and a lucrative avenue for his writing, pundit and consulting work.
2. Duke University President Richard Brodhead is apologizing to the school's men's lacrosse team. Several of the men were falsely accused in last year's highly publicized rape scandal. The prosecutor in the case was recently disbarred and given a day in jail.
3. UN special envoy Ibrahim Gambari is in Myanmar. Gambari hopes to get the military government to end its crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators. At least 10 people have died in recent protests.
4. Presidential daughter Jenna Bush is kicking off a national book tour in support of her new book "Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope". It's her account of a teenage mother with AIDS in Latin America.
