1. Chaos broke out at New Orleans City Hall between police and demonstrators during the council meeting over public housing. Protesters want to stop the city from tearing down the buildings. Officers use chemical sprays and stun guns to restrain demonstrators.
2. Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is out of the hospital. Doctors gave him the all-clear after the candidate spent the night in a St. Louis hospital with flu-like symptoms. The former New York City mayor is leading in the national polls. But Mike Huckabee is challenging his standing.
3. Aruban prosecutors say one of the suspects in the Natalee Holloway case wrote in the Internet chat session that the American teen is dead. The lawyer would not say which suspect wrote that. Three primary suspects were re-arrested earlier on what police said was more evident but released this week. Holloway disappeared in May of 2005.
4. David Letterman and striking writers will meet tomorrow to try to reach an agreement to bring the writers back to work for the late show. The strike has brought shows to a close, including all of the late-night talk shows. But Letterman is hoping to strike a deal separate from the television and movie studios.
