2.Thousands of people gathered at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park for the funeral of Staff Sergeant Matt Maupin. Maupin was kidnapped four years ago west of Baghdad. His remains were found in Iraq last month. He was 20 years old when insurgents attacked his fuel convoy.

3.A Taliban spokesman is claiming responsibility for an attack on the ceremony attended by the president of Afghanistan. The spokesman says six militants were deployed with suicide vests and guns to target President Hamid Karzai. Three people were killed but the president was unharmed.

4.And hundreds of residents in this small village in Serbia turned out to have a crack at the annual Easter contest. The egg-cracking contest, that is, each contestant had to crack his egg against competitors'. The winner takes the broken egg and goes on to challenge other winners until there is just one left over.
