1. Barack Obama says he is outraged over the latest comments from his former pastor. Rev. Jeremiah Wright has been accusing his critics of attacking the black church. Obama had earlier defended Wright, but now says the reverend's comments do not accurately portray the perspective of the Black Church.

2. He's calling it " a tough time" for the economy, but President Bush still would not call it " a recession" . Instead, the president is putting much of the blame on Democrats in Congress. He says they are blocking his proposals for dealing with rising gas prices.

3. Weary residents and business owners in southern Virginia are getting a first glimpse at what's left at their homes and livelihoods. That after three tornados ripped through the state yesterday, destroying buildings and cars and injuring more than two hundred people.

While some groups of Black churches, such as African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Churches, belong to predominantly Black denominations, many Black churches are part of predominantly White denominations.

Some states use other names, often attempting to reflect more family-centered (as opposed to child-centered) practices, such as "Department of Children & Family Services" (DCFS). CPS is also known by the name of "Department of Social Services" (DSS) or simply "Social Services.
