There giant pandas have settled into their new home at YunNan zoo in KunMing ,after being evacuated from southwest China’s quake ravaged SiChuan Province.The two-year-old female is said to remain at the base,for a period of around two years where it will be under close medical supervision and fed a special diet of bamboo, fruits and vegetables.

Authorities say 61 pandas from the Sichuan breeding base either have or soon be moved to other Chinese wildlife parks. Wildlife parks, a further eight pandas that will be given to Beijing as part of the city’s Olympic celebrations have already become a custom to their new homes after being moved to the zoo last month. The group are even receiving daily mandarin lessons after struggling it first follow commands from their new handlers.

Four other pandas have arrived in Fuzoo Panda research center on Thursday where they will await and then sanitized. And six more arrived in Yang Sichuan on Wednesday, one of which is pregnant. They are resigned there for two or three years before returning back to their home in nearby Wolong.
