The reserving squad of world table tennis leader China took an easy win in men's team final at the Olympic test event by beating South Korea's young paddlers 3-0.
Ma Long paired up Chen Qi again on a temporary base as the "Good Luck Beijing" International Table Tennis Invitational Tournament, which is trying to test the operation and facility of the Olympic table tennis venue of the Beijing University Gymnasium, gives few reference to the Olympic line-up of the team tennis.
After Tuesday's match against Hong Kong's Li Ching and Ko Kai Chak, the new pair cooperated more smoothly and seized an easy win against South Korean pair Lee Jin Kwon and Lee Jung Woo with 11-3, 11-9, 11-9. The match only last less than 14 minutes.
Earlier in the second singles match between the two sides, Hao Shuai defeated Lee Jung Woo 11-6, 6-11, 11-8, 11-5, losing Chinese team's only set in the whole final, after his teammate Ma Long captures a quick win over Cho Eon Rae by 11-7, 11-9, 11-6 within only 15 minutes.
"Our paddlers played better than they did yesterday, also are South Korean players," said Liu Guoliang, Chinese men team's coach. "Both sides are young players and I think we are better so it was quite normal for us to win."
With the victory, China won both gold medals in the "Good Luck Beijing" International Table Tennis Invitational Tournament for women's trio Guo Yan, Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia won women's team title earlier in the afternoon, leaving silver to Hong Kong.
Europe United took men's team bronze in the afternoon by beating Hong Kong.
