Job Title: Training and Development Manager 

Since opening in Shanghai in 1865, HSBC has had a continuous presence in mainland China. In tandem with China’s economic development, the Bank’s services and network in the country have also grown. To support achievement of our business objectives and in line with the strategic imperative relating to the attraction, retention & development of talent, we are seeking a Training & Development Manager to provide effective and efficient training solutions and consultancy services to fulfill our Bank employees’ job specific and career development.

 Job Duties: 
  -Establish proactive business partnership with senior managers in order to align Training and Development support to key business strategies. 

  -Identify & oversee all training requirements of employees in Mainland branches and design & deliver appropriate training or learning solutions in a timely manner. 

  -Provide guidance & direction to the training team and monitor the quantity and quality of training activities and seek opportunities to continually increase productivity and effectiveness. 

  -Contribute to the establishment of structured development programmes and provide effective & integrated training solutions that are linked to the required job competencies. 

  -Manage the implementation of different Organizational Development strategies to pursue succession planning, employee development and identify high performers as a potential Group-wide resource. 

  -Provide expert technical consultancy support and manage specific projects. 

  -Facilitate best practice in resourcing, performance management, assessment and succession planning. 

Candidate Specification: 
  -8-10 years executive experience in Training, HR Consulting or other related area. Exposure to banking industry would be an advantage. 

  -Strong analytical and quantitative and qualitative research skills with an ability to think creatively and work independently and respond quickly. 

  -Highly developed interpersonal and presentation skills. 

  -Considerable design, delivery and facilitation skills. -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to be persuasive, articulate and assertive. 

  -Fluency in English and Putonghua.
